No Sufficient Evidence To Arrest Singer Madhumadawa Aravinda Over Racial Violence In Minuwangoda: AG Informs Supreme Court

The Attorney General today informed the Supreme Court that there is no sufficient evidence to arrest singer Madhumadhawa Aravinda over racial violence that broke out in Minuwangoda last month.

Madhumadhawa Aravinda is also the Deputy Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya party.

Upon the statement by the Attorney General's Department, the hearing of the FR petition filed by Aravinda was suspended today.

The singer filed the petition seeking to prevent the Police from arresting him over the violence that broke out in Minuwangoda.

The singer was caught on camera loitering in the area minutes before a number of Muslim-owned houses and business establishments came under attack in Minuwangoda.
