Elections Commission Receives Request To Include 'None Of The Above' Option In Ballot Papers

The Elections Commission has received requests to include 'None of the Above' option on the ballet paper.

A group of activists have requests the Commission that voters who are dissatisfied with the options on the ballot paper should be given the option of 'None of the above'.

The move is aimed at reducing the number of invalid and absent votes, political sources said.

The Elections Commission, however, has agreed in principle with the proposal. However, the Commission has informed the activists that the legislature will have to pass new laws to include the "none of the above" option in the ballot paper.
