Ravi Says No Disunity In Cabinet: "All Of Us Met Peacefully And Made Decisions For The Good Of The Country"

Power and Energy Minister Ravi Karunanayake said there was no disharmony within the Cabinet and everyone was working towards ensuring the well-being of the country.

Speaking to the media, Karunanayake said many expected the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday to be a hostile one.

"But there was no hostility. Everyone gathered peacefully and made decisions for the good of the country. Everyone acted in harmony and there was no disunity among Cabinet members, " Karunanayake said.

President Sirisena convened the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday after a hiatus of two weeks. He threatened not to convene the Cabinet again unless the sessions of the Parliamentary Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday attacks are suspended.

The Cabinet, however, responded to the President saying it did not have any power to interfere with the affairs of a Parliamentary Select Committee.
