Attorney General Files Revision Against Colombo Chief Magistrate's Order To Release Hemasiri And Pujith On Bail

The Attorney General has filed a revision in the Colombo High Court against the order to grant former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and IGP Pujitha Jayasundara bail in the case over Easter Sunday explosions.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayarante released the two former defence bigwigs on bail on the grounds that there is no sufficient evidence to charge them with murder.

Jayasundara and Fernando were released on two sureties of Rs. 500000.

The Attorney General said Jayasundara and Fernando were arrested for grossly neglected their duties which led to the Easter Sunday explosions.
