MR To Make Special Request To Government To Appoint Separate Panel Of Inquiry To Probe Easter Attacks

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said he would make a special request to the government to appoint an independent commission of inquiry to probe the Easter Sunday attacks.

Rajapaksa made this remark when he met a group of Parliamentarians representing the Catholic community.

The Opposition Leader said although three months have elapsed after the Easter Sunday attacks, no proper inquiry has been carried out so far.

Rajapaksa maintained the view that the real culprits of the Easter Sunday attacks are yet to be brought to justice.

Colombo Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith also requested the government to appoint a similar mechanism to probe the Easter Sunday attacks.
