Alleged Misappropriation Of Rs. 500 Million: Gamini Senarath And Two Others Acquitted By Special High Court In Litro Gas Case

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's Chief of Staff Gamini Sedara Senarath and two others were acquitted in the case over alleged illegal transfer of Rs.500 million from from Litro Gas to Canwill Holdings Pvt Limited.

Piyadasa Kudabalage and Lasantha Bandara are the other two accused who have been acquitted by the Special High Court for Corruption.

The case was heard before the Trial-at-Bar bench comprising High Court Judges Sampath Abeykoon (President), Sampath Wijeratne and Champa Janaki Rajaratne.

The High Court previously ordered to acquit and release third accused former Samurdhi Commissioner Neil Bandara Hapuwinna from the case due to lack of evidence
