The Sri Lanka Freedom Party will have a crucial Central Committee meeting this evening under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.

The meeting comes a week before the closure of nominations of the Presidential election 2019.

The SLFP still has not made a final decision on its preferred candidate at the presidential election.

However, President Sirisena has made it clear that he conveyed to Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and SLPP Candidate Gotabhaya Rajapalsa that his party will not support the 'pohottuwa' symbol of the SLPP.
