The Elections Commissioner said the ballot paper for the Presidential election 2019 would be 26 inches in length due to the unprecedented number of candidates running for the presidency.

A record 35 candidates have handed over the nomination papers to run for the Presidency at the election slated for November 16.

As a result of the over 2 ft long ballot paper, the Elections Commission said it had to bear additional costs and deploy more resources.

The Elections Commission is expected to spend Rs. 5 billion for the upcoming Presidential election.
