The SLPP secured a resounding victory winning all wards at the Elpitiya Local Council election today.

According to the final result, the SLPP received 23372 votes and secured 17 seats with a percentage of 56.31%.

The UNP secured 10113 votes and obtained 7 seats polling 24.37% of total votes.

The UPFA, which contested separately managed to receive 5273 votes willing 3 seats. Its percentage stood at 12.7%.

The JVP also received 2435 votes and secured 2 seats with 5.86%.

Elpitiya PS has 29 seats.
