The Association of Information Technology Professionals, in a press release issued yesterday has accused NDF Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa of attempting to mislead the public.

It referred to a recent event named ‘Mega Minds’ at which Minister Premadasa had demonstrated his plans to introduce an ‘artificial intelligence dashboard’ through which govt. institutions could be managed, and said it was ‘disappointed’ that the Presidential aspirant was trying to pass off video as an indication of advanced technological capabilities.

“Showing us data on a colourful dashboard is not artificial intelligence,” he said, adding that MP Premadasa should make a public apology for his “fraudulent act.”

However, several UNP stalwarts have pointed out on social media that the demonstration was of a concept, not a product, and that MP Premadasa was yet to implement his plan.
