Former Army Commander and National People's Party Presidential candidate General Mahesh Senanayake was briefly admitted to the Balangoda hospital today.

Senanayake was campaigning in Balangoda early this morning.

However, sources close to Senanayake said his condition was "not serious" and the former Army Commander would proceed with the campaign trail as planned.

Senanayake is the second retired Army Commander to run for the presidency in Sri Lanka.
