Journalist Lodges Police Complaint Against His Employers: Says Employers Threatened Him When He Refused To Carry Unsourced Stories Supporting Gota

K.M. Razool, a journalist at Capital FM, has lodged a complaint with the Kirulapona police stations against his employers over violent behavior and attempted assault.

The journalist has complained to the Police that his employers threatened him when he refused to run unsourced and unverified stories supporting SLPP Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and his political agenda.

Capital FM is owned by two close relatives of SLFP Parliamentarian Angajan Ramanathan. The Parliamentarian is now backing SLPP candidate Rajapaksa.

Razool, commenting on Twitter, described this incident as the "worst experience" in his two decade long career as a journalist in Sri Lanka.
