UPDATE 2: Swiss Embassy Worker At The Heart Of Abduction Controversy To Be Produced To Colombo JMO Today

December 09, 2019

The Swiss Embassy worker who was allegedly "abducted" by an unidentified group will be produced before the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) this evening.

She is expected to appear before the CID today as well.

The Colombo Magistrate barred her from leaving the country till December 12.

Her statement comes just as a court imposed deadline ends. On December 3, Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne imposed a temporary travel ban until December 9 on the alleged victim also directing her to make a statement to the CID before then.

The Sri Lankan government began investigations into the event despite the absense of a formal complaint by the alleged victim.
