UNP parliamentarian Ranjan Ramanayake has been arrested by Police for the possesion on a unlicsenced pistol.

The Police found the pistol while conducting a search operation on the parlaimentarian's Madiwela house.

A number of other personal items, including the MP's laptop and a number of DVDs were also taken into custody.

When the Police arrived this afternoon with a search warrant, Ramanayake live streamed the search on Facebook.
