Police Launch Special Investigation Into Ranjan Ramanayake's Leaked Telephone Conversations: Ruling Party MPs Request Presidential Commission

A special Police investigation is currently underway into the leaked telephone conversations involving former State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake.

Ramanayake was recently released on bail by the Nugegoda Magistrate.

However, the content of Ramanayake's telephone conversations has sent shock waves across political circles.

The Police investigation is carried out by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD), under the supervision of Acting IGP Chandana Wickremaratne.

Meanwhile. ruling party MPs have requested President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to appoint a Presidential Commission of Inquiry to probe Ramanayake's telephone conversations.
