JVP Raises Serious Concerns Over Ranjan Ramanayake "Leaks" Being Published In Media: "They Will Make Law Enforcement Process A Farce"

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) raised serious concerns about the telephone conversations recorded by UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake being leaked to the media.

"This has raised serious concerns about the law enforcement process in Sri Lanka. These recordings were in the possession of the Police. How did they reach the media?" former JVP MP Wasantha Samarasinghe asked addressing a press conference.

He added that there should be an investigation on how the leaked conversations reached the media.

Samarasinghe said the audio clips under questions should have been presented to the court and not to websites and media stations.

"If this continues, Sri Lanka's law enforcement process will become a farce in the eyes of the public," he added.
