UNP Parliamentary group will meet today to make a decision on several matters including the party leadership.

The group is sharply divided over who the party leader should be.

A sizable proportion of parliamentary group are backing Sajith Premadasa to be the party leader while other support former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The group is also expected to discuss their plans for the upcoming Parliamentary election.
