Major (retired) Ajith Prasanna said the famous 'Sil Redi' case involving former Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratinga and former TRC Chairman Anuhsna Pelpita was manipulated by those affiliated with the previous government.

Addressing a press conference, Prasanna said Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Kulatunga and Additional Solicitor General Bimba Thilakaratne were responsible for the outcome of the case.

Prasanna said the case was "pre-meditated" and was aimed at victimising Pelpita and Weeratunga. Both of them were sentenced for two years by the court and were later released on bail following an appeal.

Kulatunga is currently embroiled in a controversy due to his "leaked" phone conversations with UNP MP Ranjan Ramanayake.
