Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has met Attorney General Dappula de Livera last night, the Speaker's Office said.

The meeting had taken place at the Speaker's official residence in Colombo.

The meeting took place after the Constitutional Council decided to summon the Attorney General to seek an explanation on his questionable conduct

The Attorney General came under intense scrutiny after he instructed the Police to obtain a warrant to arrest Embilipitiya High Court judge Gihan Pilapitiya.
