The Education Ministry has decided to close down all schools until March 26 as a precautionary measure the spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.

The Ministry previously decided to cancel the educational tours of all government schools.

Meanwhile, a tense situation was reported at Ananda College, Colombo, this morning due to fears that the son of the latest COVID-19 patient is also infected with the virus.

Health authorities swiftly issued a statement and cleared the air on the matter.
