Army Commander says close To 180 Persons Had Come Into Contact With Swiss Pastor Who Was Tested Positive For COVID-19

Army Commander and head of National Committee against COVID-19 Lt. General Shavendra Silva said approximately 150-180 persons had come into contact with Swiss pastor who tested for positive for the disease.

The pastor, who is now overseas, held a massive service in Jaffna on March 15.

One Sri Lankan who was in contact with the pastor has also contracted the virus.

The Army Commander said the curfew in the North was to ensure all those who participated in meetings held by the pastor can be identified.

He also added that instructions are already given for all those who participated to register with the authorities so that they can self-quarantine.
