The curfew imposed on Jaffna, Vavuniya, Killinochchi, Mannar, and Mullaitivu, due to be lifted at 6 AM tomorrow, has been extended until further notice.

The decision has been made due to the fear of escalation of the COVID19 outbreak in the area.

Health authorities adopted strict measures to suppress the spread of COVID19 in Jaffna after a pastor, who conducted a service in the district, was tested positive for the virus.

All other areas that had curfew lifted at 6 AM today will see it reimposed at 2 PM (not 12 noon as previously indicated)until lifted again at 6 AM March 30 and reimposed 2 PM the same day.
