Current Measures To Control COVID19 Spread In Sri Lanka To Continue Until The End Of Sinhala-Tamil New Year Season

The President's Media Division said the current measures aiming to suppress the spread of COVID19 in Sri Lanka will continue until the end of the Sinhala-Tamil new year season.

The decision was made after a stakeholder meeting attended by the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA), members of the Presidential Task Force

At the meeting, the President said all decisions related to COVID19 outbreak in Sri Lanka would be made following consultations with relevant experts.

It was also decided to increase testing following the examples set by several other countries that successfully controlled the spread of the pandemic.
