JVP Says It Will Boycott The Meeting Summoned By PM For All MPs In The Now-Dissolved Parliament

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna said it would boycott the meeting convened by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa for all MPs in the now-dissolved Parliament.

Issuing a statement, the JVP said the proposed meeting did not serve any purpose, as the government has failed to devise a meaningful mechanism to draw the support of everyone to attend to the needs of the people.

The JVP statement said their party presented their proposals to the government during the party leaders' meeting last month.

The meeting will take place at Temple Trees under the auspices of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
