Former Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera has left the CID, a short while ago, after giving a statement.

Samaraweera arrived at the CID around 2 PM today to give a statement.

Samaraweera was summoned to appear before the CID today to give a statement on authorizing financing to take 12,500 displaced Muslims from Puttalam to Mannar for voting at the presidential election.

Samaraweera had allegedly authorised to pay the SLTB depot to provide transportation to these displaced persons in Puttalam to cast their votes.
