Cricketer Kusal Mendis will be produced before the Panadura Magistrate over a fatal accident that killed a man.

Medis was arrested last morning over the accident causing the death of a 64-year-old man.

The initial investigations have cleared the cricketer of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Mendis had claimed that he was returning from the wedding of a Sri Lanka Cricket employee and had fallen asleep at the wheel.
