Rishad arrives at CID to give statement on Easter attacks

Former Minister and ACMC Leader Rishad Bathiudeen arrived at the CID branch in Vavuniya to record a statement over the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The CID has already questioned Bathiudeen on the same matter for over nine hours.

However, Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya had earlier requested Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickremeratne to postpone the inquiries until after the conclusion of the elections, as Bathiudeen had complained that the ongoing probe could hamper his campaign.
