Police are currently recording a statement from former President Maithripala Sirisena over the Easter Sunday attacks.

The officers from the Presidential Commission probing the Easter Sunday attacks visited the former President's personal residence to record a statement.

Sirisena was the Minister of Defence and the head of the National Security Council at the time the attack took place.
