The Attorney General has submitted an interim claim for 340 Million Rupees to the lawyers of Owners of the MT New Diamond Oil Tanker.

The claim has been made for the cost incurred for assistance rendered to the Ship and other related matters .

The oil tanker caught fire off the shores of Sri Lanka last week and the Sri Lankan Navy and the Air Force were instrumental in the rescue efforts.
