A mother and her son were arrested by the police a few moments ago for the kidnapping of a four year old girl from Wellawa on September 9.

The four year old was abducted from her home in Wellawa while she was sleeping with her brother.

The child was found from the Kumbukgate area, after she was abandoned by her kidnappers near a house in the area.

Police has said that she had been kept in captivity in a house after the kidnapping.

Meanwhile it was reported that villagers were combing a forest area searching for one of the kidnappers who had fled.
