The United People's Freedom Alliance has come back strongly by securing victory in Bibile and Haputale polling divisions.

The UPFA has won Bibile electorate, which comes under Moneragala district by nearly 15000 votes.

The UPFA's tight victory at Haputale is rather unexpected as Haputale is considered to be a stronghold of the UNP.

However, it is clear that while the result of Moneragala will sway towards the UPFA, the UNP will show a remarkable progress in the district of Badulla
