Police Commence Investigations Into Aravinda De Silva's Servants

The Kollupitiya police has begun an investigation against five aides of former star class cricket batsman Aravinda de Silva in connection with alleged burglary took place at his house at Pedris Road Colombo 3.

The Colombo Fort Magistrate today ordered five mobile phone service providers that telephone details pertaining to five aides be provided to police for further probes.

Lodging a complaint with police, former cricketer alleged that cash worth Rs.5.1 million had been stolen by someone after opening a safe locker.

According to media reports, De Silva and his wife had gone abroad for a vacation, and found the cash missing after their return. He said that the money belonged to a friend, and that he was keeping it safe for them. 

De Silva told the Police that while he and his wife were away there were several servants in the house. The Kollupitiya Police then proceeded to record statements from each of the said servants
