Meanwhile, speaking to Asian Mirror, Rathana Thera said the JHU has already decided to extend its support to common candidate Maithripala Siisena at the presidential election.

He also added that the JHU would enter into a separate agreement with the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena on implementing JHU proposals which were earlier presented to President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The JHU, according to Rathana Thera, would officially announce its decision in the coming days.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that the parties of the common opposition will sign its Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to the presidential election within the next three days.

Speaking to Asian Mirror two days ago, Chairman of the UNP Leadership Council Karu Jayasuriya said the agreement has already been finalized. In addition to the political parties of the opposition, several civil organizations too will become stakeholders of the common opposition supporting Maithripala Sirisena.
