Muthuhettigama - Faizer - Faiz - Sajin All In Singapore!

In an interesting development, three prominent MPs of the ruling party, including two Deputy Ministers, are presently in Sngapore, although the presidential election is just 11 days away.

Deputy Minister Faizer Mustapha, Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama and Monitoring MP of the External Affairs Minister Sajin Vaas gunawardena – who were newsmakers over the last few days - left for Singapore yesterday.

Muthihettigama, who was on an arrest warrant in connection with an incident in Wanduramba, left for Singapore yesterday morning, using the VIP lounge of the Katunayake International Airport.  The Police Media Spokesman said the Police could not arrest him as he was using the VIP longue. Speaking to media from Singapore, Muthuhettigama had said he would surrender before court after returning to the country.

Deputy Minister Faizer Mustapha, who was expected to announce his final decision on the presidential election today, left for Singapore yesterday afternoon at around 2.45 pm

Sources close to him told Asian Mirror that the Minister would announce his decision upon his return – probably on Monday. However, last minutes attempts were made by the government to prevent the crossover of the Deputy Minister.

Faizer Mustapha’s father, Senior Lawyer Faiz Mustapha too left for Singapore yesterday morning.

Meanwhile, Monitoring MP of External Affairs Ministry, Sajin Vaas Gunawardena, who is also known to be close associate of President Rajapaksa,is in Singapore at the moment. It was in the grapevine that Gunawardena would meet Deputy Minister Mustapha in Singapore.
