Local television station TNL has expressed willingness to host the debate between Jathika Hela Urumaya and Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Leader Udaya Gammanpila.

The television channel has stated that that they will make preparations to host the debate on next Monday (29) at 9.30 pm as a special political programme.It was the JHU who challenged its former Deputy General Secretary Udaya Gammanpila to engage in a public debate over the allegations that the latter has raised against the party.

During this debate, Udaya Gammanpila will represent Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, the breakaway group of the JHU, while JHU stalwart Anuruddha Pradeep will represent the JHU.

JHU challenged the Western Provincial Councilor to a public debate  without any pre-conditions’. However, when a local newspaper inquired regarding his participation to the debate, Gammanpila had said that he was unable to participate in a live debate on Monday (29) as he had other engagements. He had given his consent to record the programme on January 02 and telecast it at the discretion of the channel.
