President Leaves For Britain Today

President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for the United Kingdom on a three day official visit today (07), accompanied by first lady Jayanthi Sirisena.

As the Chair-in-Office of the Commonwealth, President Sirisena will attend the Commonwealth Day Celebrations on March 09 and the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) meeting.

He is scheduled to meet Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh during the visit, President's Media Unit said.

President Sirisena is also expected to hold talks with the British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Minister of External Affairs Mangala Samaraweera, Deputy Minister Ajith P. Perera will be accompanying the President, President's Media Unit said.
