Dinesh Chandimal Cries After Knowing He Would Be Left Out Of Semis

Sri Lankan reporters covering Cricket T20 World Cup in Bangladesh confirmed that Sri Lankan Skipper Dinesh Chandimal had cried when he was informed that he would be left out of the semi-final against West Indies.

Although the Team manager has told that Chandimal has "opted out", it is learnt that he has been left out of the side to maintain 'balance' in the team. Chandimal's performance in T20 cricket is below par with batting average just above 13. He performed poorly throughout the group stage of the T20 World Cup.

Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga will lead the Sri Lankan team for today's match with West Indies. Malinga led the side in the last match against New Zealand in which Sri Lanka pulled out a miraculous victory under challenging conditions with spinners dominating the New Zealand batsmen.

If Sri Lanka wins today's match, the team will qualify for the Finals which is taking place in Dhaka.

Dinesh Chandimal, who is still 24 years old, was made the captain of the T20  team, when Angelo Mathews stepped down from captaincy last year.
