Australian Open 2017: Angelique Kerber, Andy Murray And Roger Federer On Court On Day Five

Day five of the Australian Open is set to begin, as the action kicks off in round three of the men's and women's singles at Melbourne Park.

It has been wet overnight in Melbourne, with more than 20mm falling since the early hours, but conditions look set to clear as the morning goes on, so hopefully play will not be badly affected, if at all.

Everyone is catching their breath after the shock loss of Novak Djokovic on day four, but who should we be watching out for today at the Open?

Germany's Angelique Kerber came into this tournament as everyone's target, being 2016's year-end world number one.

The women's singles top seed has been taken to three sets in her first two matches - she will want to get off Rod Laver Arena quickly against Czech player Kristyna Pliskova, with the in-form Canada's Eugenie Bouchard - who plays American Coco Vanderweghe first-up - as her potential next opponent if she wins.

Kerber will be followed by a potential barnstormer between fourth seed Stan Wawrinka, and everyone's favourite code violation expert, Serbia's Viktor Troicki.

The highlight on Margaret Court Arena will be the clash between Australian Open veteran Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and American Jack Sock. This match will be followed by Venus Williams taking on China's Ying-Ying Duan.

With Djokovic's exit, Britain's Andy Murray has his best chance to break his Australian Open title drought - he will be hoping the ankle he rolled in round two stands up when he faces American Sam Querrey on HiSense Arena in early afternoon.

The night session will have plenty to offer, with 10th seed Tomas Berdych facing a stiff test against the still-dangerous Roger Federer on Rod Laver Arena.

Over on Margaret Court Arena, Kei Nishikori is up against Lukas Lacko, while Spain's Garbine Muguruza will look to progress safely against 32nd seed Anastasija Sevastova.
