Former Major General Palitha Fernando has been elected as the new President of Athletics Association of Sri Lanka (AASL). The Annual General Meeting of AASL held at the National Library Auditorium yesterday.
Major General Fernando elected as the new President after defeating Sugath Thilakaratne with 79 votes in favor and 32 against.
Newly elected president stated that he will do his best to promote athletics in the country.
