Shakib Al Hasan Ban Reduced By BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has lifted the suspension period on ace all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, from the original period of 6 months to just 3 months, according to reports.

The decision came after an emergency meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday. According to the board, Shakib is now eligible for selection to the national team after September 15th.

The decision means Shakib will feature for the national team for the home series against Zimbabwe, commencing in October.

Shakib was banned after he was involved in a verbal altercation with the national coach, Chandrika Hathurasinghe. He was supposed to feature for the Barbados Tridents in the 2014 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) but hadn't obtained the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the board. He was called back from West Indies before being banned from all cricket for 6 months as part of disciplinary action.
