Maduluwawe Sobitha Thera wanted a simple funeral and was totally opposed to unnecessary expenses, a video released following his passing away reveals.

In this video, Sobitha Thera states that since he was the Chief Adviser of the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, the Society should be given the chance to obtain his eyes and other organs as required.

There is no point in spending large amounts of money for a dead body, Sobhitha Thera states in the video statement.

He points out that in a grand funeral, various committees will be appointed, large sums of money will be wasted and people will be inconvenienced.

"I have no use of any of those things after I die" Sobhitha Thera points out in his statement.
