Fisheries State Minister today hit out at Fisheries Cabinet Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, saying that although the Cabinet Minister does not have confidence in him, he enjoys the confidence of the President, the Prime Minister and the people of Hambantota.
Speaking at a press conference in Colombo today, Wedaarachchi said that he was disturbed by the claim by Amaraweera that he is incompetent.
Wedaarachchi pointed out that he had stood up to the challenges by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his stronghold of Hambantota District for 22 years. Unlike Amaraweera, he contributed to the establishment of the 'good governance government' Wedaarachchi also said.
Amaraweera had recently claimed that he is unable to trust Wedaarachchi with too much powers.
