A major fire broke out at the Army Camp at Kosgama, Army headquarters sources said.
Some residents in the area said loud explosions were heard as the fire broke out.
Military sources said the fire broke out at the armoury of the Army camp. The incident occurred around 6 pm, on Sunday.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, the Police said Avissawella- Colombo road and Avissawella- Kaluaggala road were closed immediately after the incident.
Measures have also been taken to evacuate residents living close to the Army camp.
