Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who is spearheading the new Sri Lanka Podujana Party, has held discussions with three UNP MPs, claimed State Minister Lakshman Seneviratne.
However, he said he was unable to give details as to what agreements were reached through the discussions.
Seneviratne told media yesterday that Basil Rajapaksa was attempting to divide the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, in the interest of the UNP.
He added that he and the other SLFP MPs in government will continue to support party Chairman Maithripala Sirisena.
