Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's second son Lieutenant Yoshitha Rajapaksa, has been transferred to the Navy Headquarters effective from March 09.
Navy Media Spokesperson Commander Indika de Silva told Asian Mirror that it has been decided to transfer Yoshitha Rajapaksa from duties of the security team assigned to his father. This decision was taken based on service purposes he said.
Rajapaksa was recently granted the permission to join the security team of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa by the Defence Ministry on Yoshitha Rajapaksa's request, despite the three months leave of absence.
However there is an internal investigation currently underway, concerning his recruitment to the Navy and the scholarships that were granted him during the Rajapaska regime, following a complaint lodged by the JVP.
