Galle Magistrate ordered Criminal Investigations Department to investigate into the bank accounts of former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Thursday (26).

This order was given when the case regarding the Avant Garde ‘floating armory’ was taken up at courts.

The Magistrate also ordered investigation into the bank accounts of former Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Defence D.M.S. Jayaratne and the directors of Avant Garde Maritime Services.

On March 9, Galle Magistrate issued an order preventing former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa, ex-Navy Chief Somathilake Dissanayake and two others from travelling abroad regarding the case.
