A no confidence motion, signed by nearly 100 MPs, has been handed over to the Speaker against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake.
The motion was handed over to Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa this afternoon.
UPFA MP Bandula Gunawardena said in April that the opposition was planning to bring in a no-confidence motion against Karunanayake on financial irregularities. However, Minister Karunanayake challeneged the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) several times to file the no-confidence motion that they were planning to present against him immediately.
Recently he said that he has no problem in facing a no confidence motion but the opposition should understand its role beforehand.
