Police announced that the individual suspected of being the gunman in the assassination of Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman, Lasantha Wickramasekara, has been arrested.

The arrest was made in Navinna, Maharagama.

According to police, a total of seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder so far.
