National People’s Power (NPP) MP Nilanthi Kottahachchi has issued a statement via her Facebook account denying that she appears in a photograph circulating on social media that shows a woman standing beside former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Kottahachchi clarified that she was not present at the wedding ceremony featured in the photograph, which was shared on Mahinda Rajapaksa’s official Facebook page. She further stated that she had not been invited to the event.

The MP emphasised that if the image had been digitally altered in any way, she would take appropriate legal action regarding its circulation.
