Another actress who has appeared in photographs with Kehelbaddara Padme is to be questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The CID is currently investigating the connections between several Sri Lankan actresses and Padme, who remains in custody.

On Friday, 31 October, the CID informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that statements had been recorded from five actresses regarding their association with Kehelbaddara Padme. The court ordered the CID to submit a comprehensive progress report on the investigation by 7 November.

The probe was launched after photographs and mobile phone conversations featuring Padme and several actresses were discovered on his mobile device.

Investigators are examining the nature of these “close associations” to determine whether any of the individuals were involved in Padme’s alleged criminal activities, including narcotics trafficking, money laundering, and firearms offences. The CID is also looking into details of foreign trips undertaken by the actresses with Padme.

According to sources, another actress had allegedly proposed a film production to Padme in Dubai, and that matter too will be investigated.
